Graduating with a bachelor of science degree in biology from Washington University in 1996 and with a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2000, Dr. Miramonti completed his residency in emergency medicine and a fellowship in pre-hospital care at the IU School of Medicine.

In 2012, Dr. Miramonti was appointed chairman of the Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety. Since it was founded in 2003, the Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety has provided a forum for Indianapolis-area hospitals to share information about best practices and work together to solve patient safety issues in Indianapolis and surrounding county hospitals.

Dr. Miramonti has earned numerous awards for his work in emergency medicine. In 2013, he was honored with the Achievement in Medicine (AIM) Award for his work as the chief of Indianapolis EMS. The AIM Award is given by the St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild to members of the Indianapolis area medical community who uphold the tradition of excellence in health care. In 2012, Dr. Miramonti was chosen as one of Indianapolis Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, a sought-after designation based on an individual’s level of success in his or her field, accomplishments in the Indianapolis community and the individual’s ability to build upon those accomplishments in the future.
